Global Contract Specialist
Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas
Responsibilities will include identifying international sources for material/product needs and placing product orders, negotiating contracts with suppliers under management direction, and performing quality control of product specifications and delivery sources, i.e. freight forwarders and brokers.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Procures sourcing options and places product orders with international vendors.
• Engages in supplier/vendor pricing and minimum quality standards negotiations from chosen suppliers.
• Creates, evaluates and reviews supply contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Addresses delivery issues with freight forwarders and brokers.
• Monitors contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts.
• Manages the after sales service efforts to include product delivery schedules and quality of product to specifications.
• Prepares and presents periodic reports on international sourcing activity.
• Remain current on market trends with competitors, suppliers, and maintain procurement pipelines with alternative vendors to ensure corporate standards are maintained in accordance with required margins.
Education and Experience
• BS degree in Business-Related or Engineering field, i.e. purchasing, international business, supply chain management.
• Experience/exposure to international business through work or academic study is a plus.
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English & Mandarin.
• Strong communication skills to effectively negotiate and communicate with suppliers and vendors.
• Effective organizational & project management skills
• Excellent PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel several times a year abroad to the PRC (People’s Republic of China) and other potential supplier countries. Requires valid passport.
• Must be available to work outside regular business hours in order to conduct business with overseas contacts in different time zones.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
